Q. Do my old countertops need to be removed before a template is made for my new countertops?
A. No. Unless you are making changes to the layout of your cabinets, or replacing your cabinets, Mesa Tile & Stone can make the template from your existing countertops.
Q. Who does my plumbing?
A. Mesa Tile & Stone is not responsible for any plumbing work unless otherwise specified in your approved proposal.
Q. Where do I buy a sink?
A. You can purchase a sink at any home improvement store, order online or visit one of the many plumbing supplier’s showrooms in town.
Q. When does Mesa Tile & Stone need my faucet?
A. We need your faucet information when we make the template.
Q. Can I use marble or travertine for my kitchen countertops?
A. You can use any counter surface you like for your kitchen countertops. Marble, travertine, limestone, slate, and other stones will be prone to damage and may also have hygiene issues.
Q. When do I pay my deposit?
A. We require a 50% deposit upon approval of proposal and slabs.
Q. Once my template is complete how long does it take to before installation?
A. It usually takes 2 to 3 weeks from the template to install date.
Q. I saw an edge on television or in a magazine, can you do that?
A. We can usually fabricate most edges. If you bring in a sketch of the desired edge we can figure out what it will take to produce it.
Q. What is the difference between 2 cm and 3 cm?
A. 2 cm slabs are ¾”, 3 cm slabs are 1 ¼”. Both are suitable for countertops. There may be considerations that make one more useful than the other. Some stone colors may only be available in one thickness.
Q. What is a honed surface?
A. A honed surface is smooth and flat with a matte texture.
Q. Can I hand select my slabs?
A. Yes. In fact we ask that you approve the slabs for your project before we fabricate the countertops. If you wish, Mesa Tile & Stone will hold your slabs with a deposit.
Q. Are there remnants for my small projects?
A. Yes. The countertop must fit on the remnant.
Q. Is it hard to seal my new countertops?
A. No. Mesa Tile & Stone seals your countertops before installation. You can maintain the sealer with StoneTech products.
Q. I am remodeling my kitchen. Do I need to hire a carpenter and plumber?
A. No. Mesa Tile & Stone can provide these services if it is part of your approved proposal. |
